Pick up the other Disc Launcher when you have an opening. When you’re out, you can continue fighting, kiting it around to traps and tying it down when needed. It doesn’t have that much ammo, so make your shots count. This gives you a small window to pick up the Disc Launcher you tore off of it and use it against the Thunderjaw. Once the Disc Launchers are dispatched and the weak point is exposed, jump down if you haven’t already, and use your Ropecaster to tie it down. With its most dangerous weapon disabled, this will be a much more approachable fight.You also want to try to take out the panels on its side to expose it’s weakest point-it’s heart-and the weapons on both sides of its jaw. There are two of these weapons on its back, but with some carefully aimed Tearblast arrows they’ll come off easy enough. Your absolute top priority is to disable its Disc Launchers. Once you’re ready, equip Tearblast arrows (notch three if you have the ability to) and climb the pillar to override a point, taking down the barrier around the Thunderjaw. Thunderjaws are resistant to shock, so focus on other means to take it down. Set down plenty of Blast Wires and Proximity Bombs around the room where there are openings in the barriers. Override them to gain some help during the upcoming fight with the Thunderjaw, one of the most formidable machines in Horizon Zero Dawn. Below in the core room are two patrolling Watchers. The path to the core in Cauldron ZETA is pretty short and has no enemies on the way, so you’ll make it to the core room pretty easily. Follow the short path in the cliffside to find the small entrance.
Once it’s relatively safe, climb the stone pillar in front of what looks like the apparent entrance. Keep in mind that to prevent them from going invisible, you can use Tearblast arrows to quickly remove that component from them. With XI Overrides, you could attempt to lure one over and override it for help in the upcoming fight. Set up plenty of Shock Wires, Blast Wires, and other traps so you have a place to run if you get overwhelmed. It’s covered in patrolling Stalkers, and they are a pain to fight. Getting to the entrance is a fight in of itself.
